My Outlook on Hip and Knee replacement

My goal is to provide comprehensive care for patients suffering from arthritis of the hip and knee.  I hear many patients say "I was told I need a knee replacement."  The fact is that many times all a patient needs is a better understanding of what arthritis is, how it causes pain and things that can be done to live with it.  However this takes time listening and explaining things to the patient.  At Joint Specialists of WNC, our patients experience a different approach to orthopedics, one that involves a discussion with the patient including the cause of arthritis, the treatment options (both surgical and non-surgical) and together we will devolop a plan on how to manage it.  As a surgion fellowship trained in hip and knee replacement, I have seen the improvement we can make in a patient's quality of life with a joint replacement surgery.  Come visit us, where we treat patients, not x-rays.
